The Abortion Pill (Medical Abortion)
Medical or non-surgical abortion uses RU486 (Mifepristone) and other types of chemicals to terminate an early pregnancy. This method of abortion, RU486/Mifepristone, is FDA-approved only for pregnancies less than 10 weeks gestation.
Medical abortion may require a surgical procedure if the medical abortion fails or is incomplete.
